Hey, even though I am a Celtics fan, it was pretty damn hard not to love Michael Jordan during his reign in Chicago. He’s running the show now in Charlotte, and just hired Larry Brown as his new head coach (that’s my news peg just in case you were curious), but I still can’t help but think of this:
Cubs fans should rejoice with this one - a package deal for the ballpark and the team should be much more attractive to any team’s ownership. As Medill News Service Reporter Brian McCabe said to me last week, “Selling Wrigley Field without the Cubs is like selling Lambeau Field without the Packers, or Fenway Park without the Red Sox.”
$1 billion is a lot of coin though for a group of lovable losers.
